A staple view on our drive from Idaho to Washington is Mt. Hood. 


Eric and family had a great fireworks display on the 4th of July along with an aboundance of food including his famous smoked tri-tips.

Our granddaughter Di-Adra and her husband Cameron and our great-grandson Wayne were visiting from Oregon. Wayne was only 6 mos the last time we saw him. We got to spend the day at the Oregon Zoo, we were pretty impressed by this zoo. The animals were active and we saw animal activities we hadn't seen before.

We got to see a baby elephant cooling off and playing in the water and then watch  him/her throw dirt over their body.

We got to watch this giraffe play with a ball suspended from a pole.


These pair of tigers were pouncing and playing with each other.


We spent a day at Seaside OR and Echo got to play in the ocean.


While in the area we stopped at Fort Stevens State Park where we saw an old shipwreck and one of the 3 forts that defended the Columbia River during World War II. 



This year we decided to stay in an RV park north of Vancouver rather than Portland OR. The park was part of the Clark County Fairgrounds, there was a lot of places for Echo and I to walk everyday. While there we also checked out the Ridgefield Nature Preserve and one of the local wineries.

The drive from New York into Vermont was really pretty. It wasn't quite peak colors but f all was definitely settling in due to the lack of rain. We drove to Bennington stopping at Hogback Mountain viewing area and checking out the Hogback Mountain Country Store. We visited Bennington Battle Monument that commemorates the Battle of Bennington during the Revolutionary War. The monument is  306 feet 4 and 1/2 inches tall and features an observation deck with views of three states. The cornerstone was laid in 1887, and the monument completed and dedicated in 1891.       We drove past this beautiful Church, Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales, a Roman Catholic Church. We also visited Robert Frost's Stone House.  The Stone House, built in 1769, is the site where Frost wrote, among other notable poems, “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” “Nothing Gold Can Stay,” “Fire And Ice,” and the book  New Hampshire: A Poem with Notes and Grace Notes.  We had Echo s...

It's time to catch up on the blog, we have been absent for 4 months. I forgot to post some pics of the last few stays on our way to Alabama. Y'all remember the Dukes of Hazard? Well we stayed at John Schneider Studios in Holden, LA. We were told that he is on his property most of the time however we didn't see him while we were there. After Louisiana, we drove to Destin, FL and stayed at Destin Army Infantry Recreational area. We checked out the area and visited with friends Marty and Liz Crocco. From Destin, we made our way to Valdosta, GA to visit our granddaughter Thereasa. We only spent a couple nights but got to meet her dog Mazikeen.  We also got a visit a wildlife preserve. We fell in love with Fairhope Motorcoach Resort so in February we bought a lot with a beautiful outdoor living area. End of Year of 2025 in Review

We are extremely late putting out our travels for the year but for the most part we we a great year of traveling! We traveled a total of 13,810 miles. We left Fairhope, AL on April 29 and after our 4th night on the road we had our hydraulic motor go out. We spent 8 days with out jacks and slides but in the end it all worked out. Our year consisted of some really beautiful country, including waterfalls, mountains, and so much more. Our travels included: A total of 8 Harvest Hosts in Texas, Utah (3), Oregon, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and  Arkansas. 1 Boondockers Welcome site in Pendleton, OR.  2 Military Installations, Hill AFB, UT, USCG Cape Cod, MA. We visited 10 National Parks, Petrified Forest NP, Arizona, Glen Canyon NRA, Arizona & Utah, Arches NP, Canyonlands NP, Capitol Reef NP, Bryce Canyon NP, and Zion NP, all in Utah, Mount Rainer NP, Washington, Apostle Islands NLS, Wisconsin, and Springfield Armory NHS, Massachusetts.
