End of Year Review of 2024 Travels
We are really late putting out our travels for the year but we had an amazing year! We traveled a total of 11,739 miles. We left Fairhope, AL on April 13 and our first stop was a 14 day stay at the Tiffin Service Center in Red Bay, AL. We got everything on our warranty list complete and were pleased with the whole experience. Our year consisted of some really beautiful country, including waterfalls, mountains, animals and so much more. Our travels included:
A total of 10 Harvest Hosts in Nebraska, Oregon, Washington (2), Montana (2), South Dakota (2), Minnesota, and Texas.
7 Military Installations, Hill AFB, UT, Ellsworth AFB, SD, Nellis AFB, NV, Davis Montham AFB and Luke AFB both in Arizona, White Sands Missile Range, NM, and Dyess AFB, TX.
We mooch-docked in the driveway of our friends Dave and Sally's house in St. Mary, Missouri.
We visited 7 National Parks, Olympic National Park (WA), Devil's Tower (WY), Big Horn (WY & MT), Yellowstone (WY), Teton (WY), White Sands (NM), and Carlsbad Cavern (NM).
Our coach and jeep took a ferry ride from Port Townsend, WA to Whidbey Island, WA.
We hiked the dungeness spit in Port Angeles, WA. It is a sand spit jutting out approximately 5.5 miles from the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula into the Straigt of Juan de Fuca. At the end is a lighthouse where we toured the inside and rested a bit before making the 5.5 mile hike back.
We stayed a week at Fishing Bridge RV Park in Yellowstone. We had a bison visit the RV park and hung out pretty much all day. We saw a bear between Mammoth Hot Springs and Tower Junction. We also saw some moose in the Grand Teton's.
Our years travel ended at Tiffin Service Center in Red Bay, AL. Since it was our first year traveling in our new coach, we had some additional items that we found that needed to be fixed and while there we got our fluids changed and got a windshield chip repaired. After leaving Red Bay, we arrived back in Fairhope on November 12.
