Bellingham WA - 2024

Image
What an amazing week we had in Bellingham, WA. The amazing part is I got to spend the whole week with my cousin. We had a great week of catching up since it has been a couple years since I have seen her.  I'm really excited that we nailed down time to travel together next spring. While my cousin and her husband were working, we took a drive to Mount Baker. The drive was beautiful and once up as far as we can drive, we got to see snow and even the hiking trail we walked had spots where we needed to walk in snow.  Huge wall of snow at the top, Artists Point Echo loved the snow Part of the hiking trail Water flowing down the mountain side I also got to meet my new cousin. She shares a birthday with her mom and with her great grandma (my favorite Aunt Shirley). I made her a hat, a headband, and a few other things. The hat is a little big but hopefully it will fit her in the winter.

We discovered that our Garmin was not set up to avoid ferries. I wondered why we were being routed to Port Townsend and should have checked sooner. So, the RV got a ride on a ferry to Whidbey Island. Since Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island was local we decided to check out the Pacific Northwest Air Museum. It was all pretty interesting and Ernie and Casen were excited to find they had flight simulators to try out. We checked out Squatchy's. We went on a five mile hike on Hoypus Point that took us to the beach of Cornet Bay and through the lush, very humid in the sun, cool under the shade woods in a section of Deception Pass State Park. Mount Baker We also took a boat tour of Deception Pass. We saw Mount Baker, some seals sun bathing, the opening of an old mining cave, and an eagles nest. We had a great week right outside of Deception State Park. We would have liked to take the kayak out but with it being a holiday weekend, the area was packed. We will look at coming back to th

We totally enjoyed our time with everyone! Cards Against Humanity Top Golf Qristopher Belt Testing, he broke is block into 3 pieces. Gun shooting We walked over 2.5 miles to Moulton Falls and back. Our next stop was a Harvest Host LeMay America's Auto Museum in Tacoma, WA. We have been here before but our grandson Casen, who will be traveling with us for awhile, hasn't and he found his favorite car. We spent a week in beautiful Olympic National Park. The drive up to Hurricane Ridge was beautiful. We checked out Ediz Hook. It is a 3 mile long sand spit that extends from the northern shore of the Olympic Peninsula at Port Angeles. At the end of the spit is a US Coast Guard Station. Echo swimming in the Strait of Juan de Fuca off the western edge of Ediz Hook. We ch
