Kentucky in the Fall - 2023

Our travels took us to Frankfort, KY, where we started our summers travel in early May. The horses run at Keeneland Race Track in Lexington, KY in October and we thought it would be fun to check out the races. We stayed a really nice RV park where we shared a buddy site.  We didn't too bad at betting on the horses. The first day if you count just the betting, we were up $10.00. The second day there were more races and we lost about $40. It was a lot of fun cheering on the horses we bet. We also visited Woodford and Buffalo Trace Distilleries to resupply some bourbon for ourselves and others.

We are making our way west. Our first stop was at a Harvest Host, Ocean State Harley-Davidson in Exeter, Rhode Island.  On our way to our next stop I took pictures of Gov Mario M Cuomo Bridge and the Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse as we crossed the Hudson River north of New York City. Our second stop was at a Harvest Host, Readington Brewery & Hop Farm in Readington, New Jersey. There was quite a bit of room behind the brewery and there were four of us that night. When we arrived at our third stop, a Harvest Host, Midnight Oil Brewing Co. in Newark, Delaware our Garmin took us past the driveway we were supposed to go in so we ended up in the back of the building. This time Ernie went to see where we were supposed to park to make sure we could get all 70' in the area they wanted us or if we needed to disconnect the Jeep. He called me and told me to bring the RV around to the front of the building. At first I thought he was kidding but he said nope, bring it around. I am pretty proud o...

Fall in New England, Part 6 - 2023

We left Maine and stayed at a RV Park in Foxboro, MA. Our first full day was a trip to Boston. We did a hop on hop off tour around the city. I checked off a bucket item list when we visited and ate at Cheers. The actual bar setting for the show. Cheers! The next highlight was Fenway Park. It was quite the walk from Stop 8 but worth it.  A group of students were interviewing people on their thoughts about Tim Wakefield, Ernie agreed to the interview. We took the tour of Fenway, our tour guide Xavier. He was a really good tour guide, he had great stories and was really knowledgeable, even pointed out some things we didn't know. Sitting on the Monstah, the best seats in the house! IFYKYK The Red Sox remembering Tim Wakefield. The also had his number (49) on the scoreboard as the pitcher. The next day was a trip to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. They have been doing a lot of renovations and one was adding a lighthouse that you can go up into. We also toured the New...
