May, June, July and 2 weeks in August

After we left Corpus Christi, Texas in early May, we drove to Livingston, Texas to pick up our mail at Escapees Mail Service location. We spent the night at an Escapees campground going through 2 months of mail.

Our next 2 nights we stayed at a really cool COE (Burns Run) in Cartwright Oklahoma, this site has been added to one of our favorites. We look forward to checking out the water in our kayak.

Then it was on to Tulsa. We stayed at a really nice RV resort. The sites were all different due to the terrain. Echo was very intrigued by mouse hole.

The last weekend on the road we met up with my very first friend Sharon and her husband Mark at a State Park in Lawrence Kansas Unfortunately, we had a power issue so we were without power all weekend but still had a great time.

Next was our scheduled service appointment at Winnebago Service Center in Forest City, Iowa; we were scheduled to get all of our warranty work finished that we had been waiting on forever.  Fortunately, our power issue was considered a safety issue so they let us add an item for service. We also had an amazing service tech who helped us figure out some nuisance stuff, like rattles, our loose door handle, peeling paper on the walls and a few other items. We were at the Service Center for 3 full days, the electrical issue was elusive until they came out and asked us a bunch of questions. They discovered that when we installed our lithium batteries we needed to update our main fuse. We are so grateful they were able to figure this out because we have blown 2 automatic transfer switches since our first trip in the RV. We met so many new people that are now our friends.

We left Iowa and drove north to Wisconsin. From then until June 25, I was busy determining what I could do for my parents to make it easier for them. I quickly found out that there were a lot of things I needed to do.

On June 26, we arrived in Iron River MI, anxiously waiting for baby Maddie to arrive. Madeline Mae was born on July 4. We kept Ellie and Lucy in the RV for 2 nights which was a blast and a challenge in a small space. We really enjoyed our time there. Ernie was able to get some fishing in, we went kayaking quite a few times and I even got to hold a baby alpaca.

Iron River was our home for all of July except for 4 nights when we drove back to Berlin to move my parents in Patriot Place. We were fortunate to spend a lot of time with the girls, we hung out on their farm, we went to the rodeo, we went to the fair, and they hung out with us at the RV park.

Ernie and I went to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. We spent the day checking out some waterfalls and some of the parks. Echo enjoyed Lake Superior, the water was a little chilly but he didn't seem to care.

On August 9, we headed back to Berlin to check on mom and dad and see if there was anything they wanted changed for fixed. It wasn't easy leaving but we are ready to hit the road.

Our first night on the road we stayed at a Harvest Host, Fergedaboudit Winery and Vineyards in Illinois. We enjoyed a little wine tasting and may or may not be in a video clip showcasing this Harvest Host. They had a crew filming a piece called Welcome to Galena that will air in the local area in the Fall.
