Waco Texas

We arrived at this beautiful COE (Speegleville Park) on Sunday. We had a little trouble getting our RV in the site due to the pavilions they have in all the sites. We typically position the rig to the drivers side of the site so that we can reach electrical and water hookups however in this site when we went to open the slide the pavilion was a little too close for comfort. At 101 degrees outside, we were both  hot after finally getting it in a better position.

On Monday, we drove into Waco to check out Magnolia Silos.
Chip & Joana Gaines have done a great job with this place.

Yes, we shared a frozen coffee.

Next time we visit, we will go in the evening. This area was beautiful and you can see there are lights strung. It would be a place to sit and relax.

There was a lonely flower on the magnolia tree.

It would be hard not to walk away with something from the store. I thought these wood recipe cards were really cool. There were 3 of Joana's favorite recipes, Lemon Pie, Strawberry Pie and Chocolate Chip Cookies. When I saw the price ($8/ea) I decided a picture was good enough. I did buy a t-shirt, a sticker for the RV and a cutting board.

After we left Magnolia, we checked out Waco Mammoth National Monument.

And, for all my WI family and friends...Neenah Foundry is everywhere.

Every night we would take Echo for a long walk. There are many resident deer. There were several buck in this group. At one time we counted 22 deer.

Last night was the coolest it has been so we walked to the boat dock. Echo went for a little swim.

As we were walking back to our site, Echo met a new friend Opal. She is another mini Aussie and is a beautiful and sweet pup. They had a great time running and playing together.

As I was putting all the pictures in this morning, a bunch of deer walked into the area across the road. Unfortunately, a dog and owner came out of one of the campers down the road and all but one ran off before I could get a picture.

Today, we pack up and move on to the next adventure.
