Mississippi & Tennessee
My laptop decided it wasn't going to work anymore and I finally got a new one. Now that it is protected and I am able to put my pictures all in one place again, it is time to fire up the blog once again.
Well, these little numbers made a mess on our windshield. We tried washing them off when we got fuel but ended up having to clean the entire front when we got to our site in Tennessee.
We left Alabama on Friday, Sept 10 and headed to Mississippi which was going to be an overnight stop. We stayed in a KOA in Toomsuba. It has a population of 773 and is named after Toomsuba Creek. The only pics I got was of this thing making its way across the road by our site. Its shell color caught my eye as I was out walking with Echo.
In and around Fairhope AL where we stayed for 4 days, I was so impressed by the live Oak trees. Some had branches that were so long they would touch the ground. This is the only one I got a picture of, right outside the park we stayed in.
The other thing Alabama has is love bugs. This is what Wikipedia says: The lovebug is a species of march fly found in parts of Central America and the southeastern United States, especially along the Gulf Coast. It is also known as the honeymoon fly or double-headed bug. During and after mating, matured pairs remain together, even in flight, for up to several days.

In Tennessee, we checked out Shiloh NMP. This was another 22 stop auto tour unfortunately, cell service was not good in the park so I couldn't download the app.
This live like display was in the visitor center.
Love this explanatory, throughout the park these were placed and it gave you a perspective of where the events happened and which direction the troops were standing or moving.

We walked out to this burial site. The word mass had us curious. The map we were following said burial trench.
Shiloh United Methodist Church, The site of the church for which the battle was named.
Pittsburg Landing on the Tennessee River.
US/Shiloh National Cemetery
Saw this cross on the drive to Shiloh NMP.
After visiting Shiloh NMP, we drove a short distance to Sheriff Buford Pusser's Home and Museum, unfortunately, they were closed on Sunday.
This is so awesome. I lo e watching the updates of your adventures! ~DeHanna ❤
