Georgetown TX

The last two nights we have stayed at another COE, Cedar Breaks Park in Georgetown, TX. It has been really nice here with temperatures dropping into the mid 50's overnight. We were finally able to sleep with the windows open rather than the air conditioning running.

We noticed on the way in that there is a hiking trail in the park so we decided to check it out. We met a couple of women the night before who said there was falls about 2.5 miles in. We are glad we decided to check it out even though we found out the trail doesn't start until 1 mile or so in. Our total hike was just over 7 miles. Echo did great but he was tired.

This is how the rocks looked on most of the trail. They were in the trail as well which made the it pretty rough walking. I am so thankful I brought our hiking shoes.

This tree was growing up out of the rock.

Yikes, a snake in the water.

After going inside of the falls we were both pretty wet so we stayed cool on the walk back.

We saw the fencing on the walk in and wondered why it was here. On the way back we came around a corner and found out the reason.

This one had some big horns!

One of the main reasons we stopped in this area was so Ernie could meet up with another colleague from his Air Force days. Steve came out to the park the first night and the two of them did some catching up. Last night the four of us went out to dinner. It was great to meet Steve and his wife Sue.

Today we are packing up and moving on.
