Man, it was so easy to get a blog in everyday but these days here in Idaho have been busy.

On Monday, Casen was having a rough day. He was extremely tired so we let him sleep. While he was napping Ernie & I ran out to the Base. 




Apparently, we needed a nap after we got back from the Base. 😂😴


The rest of the day was pretty quiet, we had yummy tacos for dinner and then we made sure Casen got a good nights sleep by getting him to bed earlier than previous nights.

Tuesday started with breakfast at AJ's....these 3 crazy boys...💓💓💓😀



After breakfast the boys hung out while Gayla and I designed something for the RV. I wanted a saying to go above the compartments and the dash. I struggled with the color. I didn't want anything that would make it look cheap and I didn't want it to stand out like a sore thumb. I think I accomplished it with this wine color. A big THANK YOU to Gayla for helping me design it, get it cut and for putting it up, we really love it. A special Thank you to Ericka Russell @GiftsorKeeps for letting us cut this on their machine.

Wednesday was a planned fun day for the boys. It would be their last full day to make memories. We drove out to Bruneau Dunes and rented a couple of sand boards. On the first try John E and Clay tried out the board sitting on their butts while Casen gave the standing one a try. I think Casen would love snow boarding, he did really good. It was a bit warm, they all were tired after climbing the dunes several times to go down on the boards.











Next stop was to CJ Strike Reservoir to cool off and get the sand washed off. Gayla and family have a favorite spot and we had it to ourselves. It didn't take long for the boys to get in and enjoy the water.






The two youngest were tired out.


We went back to the Lathrop's house and the boys hung out, jumped on the trampoline, played video games, watched a movie and had a yummy dinner.

Again, all good things come to an end, it was time to say "until next time."

We made some great memories, Casen really enjoyed his time with his cousins.

Carlsbad Caverns, NM - 2024

Our next stop was Carlsbad Caverns. We arrived late Friday afternoon after stopping to check out Gaudalupe Mountains National Park.  We had reservations for a tour Saturday morning. On our drive out to the Cave we saw some barbary sheep. These are non-native originally from North Africa and first appeared in 1959. It is thought that the herd probably escaped from a private ranch in the Hondo Valley of New Mexico. We toured Carlsbad Caverns in the spring of 2021 and enjoyed it just as much the second time. There are so many different formations. The Natural Entrance The walkway down into the cavern. There are so many different formations. One thing we didn't get a chance to do in 2021 is watch the bats fly out of the cavern at dusk so we made sure to see it this time. The park has 17 different bat species however, the large colony of Brazilian free-tailed bats are what wow the visitors every evening from spring through fall with their outflights. Texas and Arkansas - 2024

We left New Mexico and traveled through Texas. We stayed at Dyess AFB in Abilene, and a beautiful RV park in Weatherford. Our last stop in Texas was BackStory Brewery which is a Harvest Host in Sulphur Springs. We enjoyed a beverage and had an amazing dinner.  Our next stop was Willow Beach a COE in Scott, Arkansas. This isn't the first time staying here and we enjoyed the weekend.

Arizona and White Sands, New Mexico - 2024

  From the Grand Tetons, we stayed a night at Hill AFB Famcamp, Ogden, UT, a night at a Love's RV Stop in Filmore, UT and a night at Desert Eagle Famcamp, Las Vegas. From there we headed to Arizona and stayed 5 nights at Saguaro Skies, Luke AFB in Glendale. I was really happy to see my best friend and spend time with her. We had lunch at a newer restaurant called Stillery. The food was really good and so was the atmosphere.  From there we headed south and stayed at Boneyard Vista, Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson for a few nights. We had brunch with our friends Jeff and Louise and spent a few hours catching up with them. Our next stop was White Sands Missile Range Famcamp in White Sands NM.  A view of our RV and the San Andres Mountains We visited the museum which was really deep in history.
